The soul of poets, artists, teachers, those of us in the ‘humanities’ is almost a given. Bringing soul into the workplace seems almost like a contradiction. However, every client I have coached in the workplace, regardless of the sector, says they care about people, they care about the mission of the organization, and they want to make a difference.
The work we do as coaches, particularly the Transformational Presence model, is what I call ‘soul technology.’ We are here to touch souls, because it matters.
Yesterday one of my clients was curious about how to motivate one of her employees. I asked her what matters to that person. What matters isn’t as important as knowing that something matters and finding out what that is helps connect people to purpose and meaning.
What matters to you? What is your “for the sake of ____________”, I get out of bed and go to work because it matters. Fill in the blank.
Let me know, I’d love to hear what inspires and motivates you.
