In my work, designing and creating workshops, speaking engagements, working with teams, and coaching individuals is an art. When I am in the “oh sh---!" mindset, I am not creative. I can generate something, some version of what I do, but it’s not flowing, it’s not fun, it’s sub par work.
How then do we move beyond the fear based, “I have to do this, or else” mindset?
I spent two days this weekend in Glacier National Park. Her sacred geography is my muse. We can’t all just go to a national park and walk, drive around, take photos, and reflect. Sometimes I can’t walk around my “studio” (office) and get anywhere. Outside seems to help open me up. Feeling gratitude also helps. It is often what I think of as little things, like having any work, like being healthy, having trusted colleagues and friends, being grateful for Carl, Cohen, and Laura.
Not so little…actually those are all really big and really important!
Making a daily appointment with my trusted Source makes a big difference. Somehow just sitting down, saying “I’m here” and being patient while the connection is made. Having a sincere desire to serve, make a positive difference, and be of use helps me tap in to what I call ‘the more’. From there, ideas emerge, thoughts arise, and I am more likely to write, reflect, share, and be open to the flow.
What are you noticing? How does it work for you? Share this, share with all of us, let’s learn together.
