I recently attended two meetings during which everyone involved mentioned the time repeatedly:
“We only have 30 minutes…we only have 15 minutes….etc.”
The focus became the time. We were rushing. I felt myself becoming agitated and frustrated.
A favorite quote from a client: “I am running to catch up with myself.”
I wonder…really, if being present just feels hard because we think it will slow things down. And, I often say to myself, “You are here anyway…why not BE here?”
The potential in the moment is lost when we are not in the moment. We often skim across our lives believing the myth that busyness is productivity, and, productivity matters most.
Stillness speaks, try being still and being quiet…just for a minute or five. Notice what you notice.
Let me know how it goes…
(BTW, helpful hint: try hanging out with a 3 or 4 year old. They are masters of being in the moment.)
Wishing you a few "wonder blowouts!"
