Thank you, and the eye opening, gut wrenching parts of coaching are called deep self awareness. It is a leadership skill.
Being aware of our strengths, skills, areas for growth, and being willing to be vulnerable enough to grow are the keys to effective leadership.
If all we did was set goals and create action plans, there would be movement forward without deep learning.
Personal growth must be part of professional growth or nothing really changes
at a level that is sustainable.
Thank you for being willing to grow!
I am humbled daily by my clients' willingness to look deeply, take risks, and stick with it. They are often working in environments that don’t value things like deep self awareness, deep listening, embracing uncertainty, and speaking their truths (even with a shaking voice). So they have to commit, practice, and ask for support to keep being willing to develop these skills and qualities, knowing they won’t be fully supported in the culture they are working in.
That choice is powerful and can be life altering for them. Sometimes they are able to sustain their growth in those settings, sometimes they choose to leave, and sometimes the ‘powers that be’ let them go for questioning the status quo.
We are living in times of extremely rapid change. We are being called to show up differently. Most of us are learning what that means, looks like, sounds like, and the courage it takes to live what we value.
I am so grateful to be part of those journeys, all the while knowing that they are supporting me on my own journey.
Life is magical, or as one of my clients says: “Life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved.”
