Why we shouldn’t shit in the water we are going to drink
I have a client who is very young. She is very smart, so people around her are telling her she should go to law school. Of course, I asked her if she wants to go to law school, and she answered, “Not really.”
I asked what she cares about. “The environment”, she replied. “Which part?”, I asked. “All of it.” Then I asked her to choose one part she worries about. Her answer was “water.”

So, to stimulate some thought, I requested she write a paragraph about why we shouldn’t shit in the water we are going to drink. She laughed…and I said, “No, really, write about that…”
Llewellyn Vaughn Lee is a Sufi mystic I have followed for years. (Stay with me here, there is a connection).
When interviewed many years ago, the interviewer asked, “When will the world as we know it end?” His response was priceless… “The world as we knew it ended a long time ago. A species that destroys its own habitat cannot continue to exist.”
It all seems so obvious.
But not to everyone.
